On the night of June 18th, 1841, a tragedy involved two steamships on the Mediterranean sea: the neapolitan S.S. Mongibello and the sardinian S.S. Polluce of Raffaele Rubattino's Steam Ship Company. A thrilling article of postal history showing the original and rare covers travelled on board of both those paddle steamers.
